Recurrent Pregnancy Loss
Many couples have little or no difficulty in getting pregnant, but suffer from repeat miscarriages. Although many times the causes are unknown, there are several disorders that can cause recurrent pregnancy loss. Blood tests to evaluate hormonal, immune, genetic, and bleeding problems are important in the work-up. Structural defects of the uterus can be found with the use of ultrasound and repaired with minor surgery. Treatment using oral or injectable medicines, vitamins or IVF with genetic testing can be used to treat this problem for some couples.
