All our physicians have two board certifications in reproductive endocrinology & infertility and obstetrics & gynecology. Our physicians are also Fellows in the American College of Obstetric and Gynecology.
Dr. San Roman
Gabriel Alejandro San Roman, M.D., Medical Director, is a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist. He currently holds an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he was the former Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology. Dr. San Roman also serves as the appointed Chief of the Reproductive Endocrinology Division at Winthrop University Hospital and is the 2005 American Fertility Association Family Building Award recipient.
Dr. Stelling
James Robert Stelling, M.D., Director of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis Services, is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Stelling holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility at Stony Brook University Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, The Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The Endocrine Society, The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, The Suffolk Ob/Gyn Society, and The American Medical Association.
Dr. Saketos
Maria Saketos, M.D., is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Hellenic Medical Society. She currently holds an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has privileges at Winthrop Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital.
Dr. Sung
Linda Sung, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., is double-board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, The Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The Endocrine Society, the Nassau OB/GYN Society, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Sung had her medical school training at Drexel University in Philadelphia, OB/GYN Residency training at Winthrop University Hospital, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. She currently holds an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has been nominated and serves as the President of the Nassau OB/GYN Society for 2011. Dr. Sung has also been awarded the CREOG Teaching Award for her excellence in teaching and training of OB/GYN Residents. She currently holds hospital appointments at Winthrop University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital, and Nassau University Medical Center, where she was the former Acting Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Her special interest areas include infertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility preservation, treatment of adolescent menstrual irregularities, and reproductive surgeries.
Dr. Bray
Mary A Bray, M.D., is a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist who has been in practice since 1987. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. After four years as an Assistant Professor at SUNY-HSC at Brooklyn, she left the academic setting to devote herself to private practice. Dr. Bray is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the Endocrine Society.
Dr. Bronson
Richard Bronson, M.D., is Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pathology at Stony Brook University Medical Center and Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology. He also directs the Andrology Lab at SBMUC, which performs tests to assess male reproductive capacity. Dr. Bronson trained at New York University School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania and is board-certified in Reproductive Endocrinology. He is a past President of the American Society for Reproductive Immunology and is currently on its Council. Dr. Bronson has been an Associate Editor of the journal Human Reproduction. He is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Endocrine Society, the Society for the Study of Reproduction, and the American Andrology Society. Dr. Bronson has been named in Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors – NY Metro Area for 2007, 2008, and 2009, as well as a “Best Doctor” chosen by Newsday in 2009 and 2010. His special interests include diagnosing the causes of recurrent pregnancy loss and understanding why pregnancy fails to occur following in vitro fertilization.
Dr. Lydic
Michael L. Lydic, M.D., is a Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist. He is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Medicine at SUNY-Stony Brook School of Medicine. He holds the titles of Clinical Assistant Professor and Medical Student Clerkship Director at Stony Brook. He has been named as the new Ob-Gyn Residency Program Director beginning in 2010. He is currently the Secretary of the Androgen-Excess Special Interest Group of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). He is a member of ASRM, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, and the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Lydic has been named to Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors-NY Metro Area” for 2007 and 2008 and a “Best Doctor” chosen by Newsday in 2008. He was also a finalist for the Long Island Business News “Physician Hero” Award in 2008. His interests include Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and Androgen Excess, Infertility, Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, and Reproductive Surgery, including Robotic Surgery. Dr. Lydic has won several teaching awards for medical student education, and is a recent graduate of the APGO/Solvay Educational Scholars Program.
Dr. Trivax
Bradley Trivax, M.D., is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. An honors graduate of the University of Michigan, Dr. Trivax earned his medical doctorate at Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Winthrop University Hospital. Dr. Trivax completed his subspecialty fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UCLA Medical Center, where he was the recipient of the Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Award. Dr. Trivax has an extensive bibliography of publications and presentations, including critical evaluations of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, genetic disorders, and in vitro fertilization. Dr. Trivax is a clinical instructor at Winthrop University Hospital, Long Island College Hospital, and the Brooklyn Hospital Center. Dr. Trivax is an Associate Member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is also a member of the Nassau County Obstetrics and Gynecology Society, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His professional interests include reproductive surgery, polycystic ovary syndrome, and androgen-related disorders.
Dr. Halfen
Abe Halfen, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., completed his Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the American College of Surgeons. He currently holds an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. He is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Suffolk Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of which he was a Past President. His areas of interest are Infertility, Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, PCOS, Ovulation induction and IVF.
Dr. Tucker
Michael John Tucker, PhD, FIBiol, HCLD, has been involved fulltime in human IVF for nearly three decades, and has worked across the World in four continents. He is laboratory director of several successful IVF programs in the USA, most notably Shady Grove Fertility based in Maryland. He also functions at an executive level for a nationally recognized cryo-bank, Xytex Cryo International. He is co-author of more than 130 peer-reviewed papers, also written over 70 chapters and course syllabi, and in addition has been co-author/editor of two text books on ART and vitrification. He has been a frequent speaker at many meetings throughout the World. As part of his research he has been responsible for certain ART ‘firsts’ throughout the decades, such as the first IVF and cryo-embryo babies in China; the first ICSI babies and cryo-egg offspring in the USA; and the first cryo-donor-egg babies Worldwide. Dr Tucker lives with his wife and four children in Atlanta, Georgia. He is an avid motorcyclist, and still competes at a national level in offroad racing in the geriatric Master Class!
Dr. Oktay
Kutluk Oktay, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., is one of the worlds foremost experts in fertility preservation as well as ovarian stimulation and in vitro fertilization for infertility treatments. He developed and performed the world's first ovarian transplantation procedures as well as pioneered new ovarian stimulation protocols for embryo and oocyte freezing for breast and endometrial cancer patients. Dr. Oktay conducted key research on ovarian follicle and embryo development, as well as on controlled ovarian stimulation and in vitro fertilization. Dr. Oktay has devoted his professional life to the science of fertility preservation and infertility treatment. He is a world-renowned researcher, a gifted medical educator, and a skilled clinician dedicated to his patients. Dr. Oktay was invited to the President's Cancer Panel as an expert on fertility issues of cancer patients and fertility preservation. In attestation to his recognition as a leading clinician-scientist in infertility field, he received a highly competitive multi- million-dollar research grant from the National Institute of Health to study the impact of chemotherapy on fertility of cancer survivors. Furthermore, he was named the co-chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Committee for Fertility Preservation Guideline for People with Cancer. He founded and was elected as the first President of the Fertility Preservation Special Interest Group at American Society of Reproductive Medicine. In 2008, after a 10-year career at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Dr. Oktay became a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Director of Division of Reproductive Medicine & Infertility at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center and founded the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Institute for Fertility Preservation (CRM-IFP). He also was named a Consultant Physician at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and a Consultant for Cancer and Allied Diseases at Memorial Hospital.
